With fresh tropical fruit and a well integrated acidity and alcohol, this wine will age well into the future. On the nose the wine displays, citrus and peach, quite a bit of vanilla and plenty of leesy character. The Chenin Blanc provides a great structure and backbone while the Viognier entices with its floral notes and mouth coating texture. This wine is enjoyed with fresh seafood, rich mussel dishes and duck.

THE VINEYARD

This elegant and bold food wine, comes from the areas of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. With the Viognier and chardonnay coming from old vine sites in the valley. Franschhoek offering fast draining alluvial sandstone soils, and some granite on the mountain sides. Creating elegant and structured whites. With our chenin coming from the soils of the Stellenbosch district including rocks of the Cape Granite Suite, the Malmesbury shale Group, the Table Mountain Sandstone Group and recent unconsolidated sediments of Quaternary age. Giving great structure and backbone to the wines.

IN THE CELLAR

From the vineyard to the cellar the grapes go through various selection processes to ensure we get only the best fruit. Hand harvested into small lug boxes and transported to the cellar. The 32 year old Chenin block, is lightly pressed and is fermented in large format older French oak barrels, for 12 months to give a complexity to the fruit. The Viognier from high lying vineyards, is whole bunch pressed and aged in a combination of new and older French oak barrels for 12-16 months.
